“Emersyn,” she says, shaking it.

Lacey returns from the back and comes in, practically bouncing, making her way to Emersyn. “I’m Lacey. It’s so nice to meet you, Emersyn!”

“You guys, too!” she says. “Thank for having me.”

“Oh girl,” Lacey says, taking the basket from Ethan who frowns at her, “you have no idea how long I’ve wanted Ridge to find someone.” Lacey’s walking her into the kitchen and away from me; now I’m scowling at her too.

“Really now?” Emersyn quirks her eyebrow at me over her shoulder.
